I'm a tired teacher just like you; fighting to balance the importance of my own life with the fun and high level of education I want to give my students. I hope these resources save you time so you can focus on the important things in life.

Earth and Space Assembly

A great assembly all about space, aimed at ks2 or upper ks1. It contains 2 songs and a dance with youtube links. Printable S-P-A-C-E lettering for the children to hold up in assembly. There is also an optional powerpoint, just add pictures of your kids or their artwork of the planets. Enjoy, this is such a fun assembly which the kids and audience will LOVE!

KS1 Self Assessment Sheets

I tend to put these at the end of certain topics or units or work but I have given them to colleagues who use them at the front of the book or to inform parents evening. They include year 1 targets for literacy and maths. I’ve also left a blank template for lesson specific tables. I really recommend children using their own hands for thumbs up, down, sideways as self assessment t the end of lesson first so they can understand the concept. My kids found this easy to grasp and fun. Enjoy :)
Year 2 Reading and Writing Targets

Year 2 Reading and Writing Targets

Simple y2 targets, I send these home with parents at the start of the year and also circle two from each column during parent's evenings for parents to work on at home. I stick a copy of each at the from of my children's books at the start of the year so they know my expectations for them by the end. In order to track their targets we highlight each box as s the achieve it, you can also stick a star on it and date it each time you are aware the target has been achieved. This has made my life so much easier!

Cut and laminate this chart to display at the front of your class. Children will quickly learn what noise level you expect within specific lessons. Great evidence of clear clear expectations within lesson observations.

Self and Peer Assessment Resource

Display this powerpoint at the end of a lesson. It shows symbols used for self assessment and a range of sentence starters for pupils to record in their books for both self and peer assessment. The sentence starters are general and should be applicable to all subjects. Saves a lot of time rather than recording red pen questions for individual children.

Teaching Standards

Example of write up and the evidence I used to show I had met each teaching standard while completing my teacher training. Great to use for ideas while for your teacher training or performance management targets.

Self/Peer Assessment

Colour coded assessment work sheet. Appropriate for all of primary school, but particularly nice to introduce self/peer assessment to KS1. I did this half termly in KS1 and stuck into into their books and after random lessons with ks2.
Subject Self Assessment

Subject Self Assessment

A series of tables with learning intentions for core subjects with a thumb scale. Children colour in or circle the thumb which relfects how they think they did on the subject. Includes blanks tables for you to add lesson specific targets, great for lesson observations. With y2 and up I have used these as my success criteria, giving the children a blank table and they hand write the criteria from the board. At the end of the lesson the quickly self assess it.

Silent 'H' game and lesson plan

(0)
Fun board game for learning new vocabulary and recognising words which have a silent ‘h’. Lesson plan included to give you ideas and explain how to play. I would recomend printing the game on a3 and laminating, this got me my first ‘outstanding’ in lesson and kids really love learning the new words! Enjoy!

Habitat Boardgame
frazert2frazert2

Habitat Boardgame

(0)
A cool little boardgame which can be used as an introduction to the topic, assessment at the end of topic in KS1 or as a knowledge harvest in KS2. Children pick up a card with an animal or plant on it and they move around the board choosing which habitat or micro habit that animal lives in. The game ends when all the cards are gone. The game targets these KS1 science objectives in the English Curriculum: a)identify that most living things live in habitats to which they are suited and describe how different habitats provide for the basic needs of different kinds of animals and plants, and how they depend on each other. b) identify and name a variety of plants and animals in their habitats, including micro-habitats.

Tortoise and The Hare Assembly

Assembly script based on the classic Aesop’s Fable; The Tortoise and The Hare. It focuses on encouraging kids to work hard and not to compare themselves with others. It has speaking parts for 30 children and includes some use of background music. This can be used for any class year 2 and up. It’s a fun assembly, hope you enjoy it :)
NQT Teacher Standards

NQT Teacher Standards

NQT is hard enough without the stress of trying to remember how to meet teaching standards. This is my document, hopefully it will help give you ideas you can demonstrate this in your school experience. Top tip: don’t be afraid to tell colleagues which standards you’re struggling for evidence in before reviews or observations. Really hope this saves you some time :)
Example Directed Activities PGCE

Example Directed Activities PGCE

An example document detailing lesson plans, interviews and reflections used to meet my School Based Directed Activities during my PGCE. I wasted a lot of time trying to understand how to meet these and what they actually met, hopefully seeing how I responded will save you some time. Enjoy and keep going student teachers! :)
